SUSTAINABILITY

We are committed to being an environmentally responsible shopping center and are continually looking for ways to build upon the variety of services and resources we provide to our stores and staff. Our efforts to reduce waste, conserve water and energy, and improve overall procedures have been recognized with the receipt of our BOMA BEST Gold Certification, and in 2022, Avalon Mall was named BOMA Canada’s TOBY – Enclosed Retail winner.

To further our sustainable efforts, we ask that you join in our endeavor when visiting the centre. Every bin within the mall is divided into trash, paper, and bottles/cans. When disposing of waste, please take a moment to note which stream your item should be placed in. While shopping, we encourage you to bring re-usable bags with you, and to avail of the water bottle re-fill stations available throughout the building. And if you are waiting for a friend, please remember to turn off your engine as we are an idle-free zone.
